Peace United Methodist Church

A community of Christ-followers in Louisville, Ohio

We take great pride in our Missions work. We supply materials and funding for projects at local, state, national and international levels.

The following projects make up our annual Missions commitment:

Backyard Ministries: helping to spread the Gospel throughout India.

Word for the World: the Earl Bailey Ministry reaches every available person, place and means, teaching the Gospel around the world.

Crisis Pregnancy Support Center: a Christ-centered ministry to the Stark County area.

American Indian Field: Billie Sue Dunn leads the Education Department in reaching Native Americans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hope Ministries: Director Jacob Beera brings the Hope of Jesus to India.

International Child Care: the Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti.

Mission Society for United Methodists: Mark and Jo Waltz travel with clinics throughout the United States.

“The Way Out”: Chaplain Roy Coblentz serves the prisoners in the Stark County Jail. His support is completely dependent on the love gifts of churches and individuals.

Trans World Radio: Bill and Beth Ury provides Gospel broadcasts into China and the Far East to those who never hear God’s Word.

Samaritan Hands Paraguay School: Sue Givens and the Mission Society of United Methodists serves Christ in Paraguay.

Campus Crusade: Matt Smith, missionary for Christ, at Kent State University.

Bethesda Ministry: an area emergency clothing and food cupboard.

Canton Calvary Mission: Peace UMC is a regular contributor of food staples and other items for distribution to needy families.

Louisville Public Schools: we donate mittens, gloves, hats and scarves from our Mitten Tree program to the elementary schools; we also collect and donate Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Lables for Education.

Peace Church organizes trips to areas needing assistance in a more personable and physical level (general repairs, cleaning, painting, etc,).  We join efforts with Jefferson UMC of Jefferson, Ohio to go on adult mission trips each year.

This picture shows one of our success stories: the woman in the purple jacket had been confined to her home for two years before the mission team built a wheelchair ramp for her.

You can find slideshows of some of our mission trips in our Photo Gallery tab.
